This is an extremely detailed guide on installing a specific Modpack, most of the steps listed are interchangeable for your Modpack or custom jar of choice however some steps may be absent or something might need to be changed, in this situation please refer to our other articles or submit a support ticket requesting assistance.

Prerequisites

Make sure you are uploading all of your files via an SFTP client such as Filezilla which is what will be used for this installation.
Find your SFTP login details on your game panel under "settings" and make note of them (You will need them along with your game panel password to connect using SFTP)
Use a trustworthy modpack website such as Curseforge to get your files.
Make sure you are downloading the modpacks server files and not the clientside files.

This guide will show you how to do some basic optimizations for your Minecraft server, so you can the best performance possible for yourplayers!

Server Jar File

For your server jar file, generally PaperSpigot is the way to go. They provide better optimizations, as well as fix glitches such as item duplication glitches. Additionally, you could also use Tuinity, which is a fork of Paper, with even more optimizations!

Timings Reports

A timings report can help you find root issues to your server(s) being laggy. You can create a timings report 3 - 5 minutes after your server starts, just go in game, and type the command /timings report. It should give you a link to something like the screenshot below. | This is an example guide on how to open a port inside your firewall

Requirement:

Windows 2019 OS

When you want to open a port inside of your firewall, you will have to go into windows seach bar at the button, and search for "firewall"

When you got into Windows defender with advanced security, go hit "Inbound rules" as on the picture below:

When you are inside of inbound rules you will need to create a new rule on the right-hand side shown on the picture.
When you are inside "New rule" you will have to press "port" and "next" at the buttom.

When you hit next, you will need to choose to open a TCP or UDP. Then type "30120" in "specific local ports" and click "Next"

How To Install FiveM On Windows Server 2019 VPS Or Dedicated Server

Prerequisites

Visual C++ Redistributable 2019 or newer.
Git to assure a correct installation.

Installation

Create a new directory (for example D:\FXServer\server), this will be used for the server binaries.
Download the latest master branch build for Windows from the artifacts server.
Extract the build into the directory previously created.
Use any archiving tool (such as WinRAR or 7-Zip).
Clone cfx-server-data in a new folder outside of your server binaries folder, for example, D:\FXServer\server-data. git clone https://github.com/citizenfx/cfx-server-data.git server-data
Make a server.cfg file in your server-data folder (copy the example server.cfg file below into that file).
Generate a license key at https://keymaster.fivem.net.
Set the license key in your server.cfg using sv_licenseKey "licenseKeyGoesHere".
Run the server from the server-data folder. For example, in a plain Windows command prompt (cmd.exe) window:cd /d D:\FXServer\server-data D:\FXServer\server\run.cmd +exec server.cfg (the /d flag is only needed when changing directory to somewhere on a different drive)
